Lime plaster
Traditional lime interior plaster has many qualities and for any building pre1930 and is essential that you use cotswold lime. Any lime work is to protect any preserve the structure of historic and listed buildings from weathering, degradation, rising damp and allowing everything to work in harmony and BREATHE. Traditional lime plastering is done by applying three coats of plaster to brick, stone or lath. The first is haired or natural fibres and scratched in small diamonds to stop any cracking, The second is unhaired and finished with a float, the third is a top coat and usually a lot finer to give the desired finish we can use stainless steel angle beads or be more traditional and curve corners off
Laths and reed board
Laths and plaster is a building technique used mainly for interior walls in period buildings. Laths are used on timber framed, studwork and on structures of uneven surfaces so they are ready for the application of a lime based plaster usually fibred or haired.
